Manufacturing Matters North West 2014, the second North West manufacturing conference to celebrate, share and explore manufacturing excellence in the region, is to take place at the AJ Bell Stadium (formerly Salford City Stadium) on 25th June 2014 as part of the International Festival of Business Manufacturing, Science and Technology week.

The conference is free to attend for manufacturers, with booking at http://www.businessgrowthhub.com/events/manufacturing-matters-north-west-2014 and builds on the success of the inaugural event in 2013, which played host to over 300 delegates from around the region. Manufacturing Matters 2014 will see a stellar line-up of manufacturing success stories, industry experts and support agencies including keynote speaker Andy Okolowicz, General Manager Manufacturing of New Balance, that employs over 245 people at its site in Flimby, Cumbria and produces over 28,000 pairs of shoes a week.

The full day conference is partnered again this year by the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), the Business Growth Hub and NatWest and is designed for business leaders and professionals from the manufacturing sector who are looking to grow, innovate and thrive. The event will feature insights into manufacturing excellence from major global brands, as well as from innovative and inspiring manufacturers, with a panel discussion, personal growth stories, information on how to get access to support and networking opportunities.

There will also be presentations from industry experts about key sectors, issues and trends affecting manufacturing in the North West including re-shoring, skills and finance, giving an insight into the economic prospects for the sector for the UK and overseas.

Richard Jeffery (pictured), Director of the Business Growth Hub, said: “The strength of support for this event from the manufacturing community has been both overwhelming and immensely gratifying and we are delighted to announce this second conference in June.

“Whilst many manufacturers already work together and collaborate at a local level, this event represents a rare opportunity to bring people together from across the region to meet their peers, to share their own stories of success and failure, and to see under one roof the many types of support and expertise available to them.”

The 2013 event was oversubscribed by 52% and attended by over 300 businesses and professionals from the sector.  Places, which are free to manufacturers, can be booked now at http://www.businessgrowthhub.com/events/manufacturing-matters-north-west-2014
