The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) Growth Hub has strengthened its team with the appointment of Account Manager and urban planning specialist Chris Lawes.
Chris joins from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council where, as Economic Development Manager, he wrote and delivered the economic development strategy for the borough.
As Account Manager specialising in planning, Chris, who has proven experience managing and delivering projects to increase economic development, will work closely with businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire to assist with their growth strategies.
Chris said: “I’m thrilled to have joined CWLEP Growth Hub and am looking forward to assisting expanding businesses in the region.
“During my time at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, I worked regularly with the Growth Hub and was impressed by the level of support the organisation was able to provide.
“The Growth Hub has played a leading role in helping businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire make key decisions about their strategies for growth.”
Chris, who hails from Essex and has also worked for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, gained an MSc in Urban and Regional Studies from the University of Birmingham in 2019. He is an expert on Coventry, having written his dissertation on the potential for affordable commercial property to help SMEs in the city.
Chris will now look to share this knowledge with partners and stakeholders across Coventry and Warwickshire to deliver economic growth.
Chris added: “I have worked closely with the CWLEP Growth Hub and have witnessed first-hand the role that the Growth Hub plays in assisting businesses throughout Coventry and Warwickshire.
“One of my specialist areas is inward investment, so I am looking forward to using this experience to help bring further funding for businesses across the region.”
