A Liverpool-based independent financial adviser is celebrating after winning a national industry award for her expertise in mortgages and equity release. Julie Roche, director at Hanover Wealth Management, was named ‘Woman of the Year’ in the ‘Mortgage Advice (including Equity Release)’ category at the prestigious Women in Financial Advice Awards, which took place at the Hilton London Bankside.
Julie, who has worked in financial services for more than 20 years, launched Hanover Wealth Management in 2008. The firm, which works with a wide range of individual and corporate clients across the country, specialises in retirement planning and has particular expertise in pensions, phased retirement, mortgages and equity release.
Speaking about her success at the Women in Financial Advice Awards, Julie said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this award, especially since the calibre of finalists in the Mortgage Advice category was so high.
“As an independent financial adviser who has managed to build a successful business from scratch right here in the north west, rather than climbing through the ranks at a large financial company, it really is a huge honour to have been recognised on a national industry level. I hope my success will help inspire other female professionals to consider a career in financial services.”
The judging panel for the Women in Financial Advice Awards commented: “Julie has clear experience and expertise in equity release and her submission demonstrated her excellent reputation as an adviser.”
Julie has also been featured by both the Financial Times and Financial Adviser magazine as one of the UK’s top female independent financial advisers. She is also one of a small number of independent financial advisers to have been accepted by SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers).
Hanover Wealth Management is based on Hanover Street in Liverpool city centre.
"Julie has clear experience and expertise in equity release and her submission demonstrated her excellent reputation as an adviser. "
