The leading independent accountancy firm, which operates three sites across Chester, Wirral and Wrexham, has appointed Aaron Phillips, 40, having worked as a Chartered Tax Advisor at the firm for the past three years, following an 11-year stint at a large regional practice.

Aaron joins a team of seven directors and more than 50 staff members and will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s tax services including personal and business tax planning.

He said: “Having worked in the industry for almost two decades, it is a real career highlight to have been appointed as director. My wealth of knowledge heavily revolves around personal and corporate taxation, meaning that my focus will be to ensure that all clients receive the best and correct advice surrounding inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax planning, business reorganisations, business succession and exit strategies.

“In line with my role development at the firm, the tax department has recently been bolstered by two new additions, which gives us a very good breadth of experience and skills to meet client expectations.”

Currently living just outside of Wrexham, Aaron began his career after graduating from Cardiff University in 1998 with First Class Honours in Accounting. In addition to working for an array of independent practices across the North West, he was admitted as a Member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in January 2002; subsequently becoming a fellow of the Association in 2011. In 2006, Aaron qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

CEO of McLintocks Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors Mike Caputo said: “Aaron’s appointment as director is certainly a major development in the firm’s stance as a market leader in the region. His impeccable knowledge and delivery of specialist taxation areas will not only further our varied umbrella of services, Aaron’s new senior position will heavily impact the strategic plan to make McLintocks the ‘go to’ firm for all accountancy requirements.

“Having established and maintained a solid client base over the past four decades, we are excited to embark on a new chapter and constantly evolve with the changing times to ensure that we continue to remain one step ahead.”

McLintocks Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors is a leading UK firm, which has three offices based across the North West.
