Energy Price Comparison Firm Launches Best of Britain Business Awards 2018

"The message is simple - it doesnt matter what it is that you do, if youre driven to implement real change in your industry, then we want to hear from you."
Phil Foster, MD of Love Energy Savings

IF your bakery sorts the wheat from the chaff, or your hair salon is head and shoulders above the rest, you could triumph at the Best of Britain Business Awards 2018.

Details of this year’s competition - organised by national price comparison specialists Love Energy Savings - have just been unveiled.

Anyone can apply, whether you’re a small firm or a council-run scheme.

Love Energy Savings is looking to reward forward-thinking entrepreneurs who’ve outshone the competition or made their local community proud.

And there’s a £500-pound prize up for grabs for each winner - who’ll be crowned champions of five different regions.

Phil Foster, Managing Director of Love Energy Savings, says applications will open July 2.

He adds: “There are some outstanding businesses in the UK doing wonderful things, whether that’s industry-leading innovation, charitable services for the local community, or introducing environmentally green schemes.

“Some firms might be shy about showcasing the incredible work they’re doing.

“But with Best of Britain 2018 we want to really shout about those achievements.

“Most of all, we’re looking to reward passionate groups or individuals who’ve really made a difference.”

The awards - now into their fourth year - will be split into five regions; Wales, Scotland, North of England, South of England and Midlands.

An overall winner from each region will be selected, each scooping a £500 cash prize.

All five winners will be invited to a celebratory round table event at the Love Energy Savings HQ, in Bolton, Lancashire, on September 20, where they’ll be able to swap advice and talk about future ventures.

And that event will also be heavily publicised by the team, giving the winning businesses some valuable press coverage.

Mr Foster adds: “Last year’s winning businesses were really diverse - from an innovative chocolatier to a firm who’d set up a nanny sharing scheme in London.

“And other winners from previous years cover everything from a hair and beauty salon to a funeral directors.

“The message is simple - it doesn’t matter what it is that you do, if you’re driven to implement real change in your industry, then we want to hear from you.”

The application process runs from July 2 to July 30, after which entries will then be shortlisted.

Finalists will be announced Aug 13 before the winners are unveiled Aug 28.

Love Energy Savings hope the application itself will prove extremely simple compared with other business awards, with those looking to enter asked four straightforward questions, including, ‘What makes you proud of your business?’ and ‘What three words would your customers or clients use to describe their experience with your business?’

Love Energy Savings themselves specialise in securing cheaper energy tariffs for business customers.

They’re enjoying a period of unprecedented growth, with projected turnover set to increase to an estimated £20m, up on last year’s £16m.
