Specialist lender Together has penned an extension to its partnership with Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks, tying the two Manchester brands together until 2021.

The move strengthens the existing agreement between the two partners, which began back in 2017, and the fresh deal will now run until the end of the 2020/21 rugby season.

As part of the renewal, Together will also continue its ongoing player sponsorship with Sale rugby ace and South African international, Faf de Klerk.

The firm has sponsored de Klerk for the last two seasons, during which time the scrum-half has established himself as one of the top players in world rugby, culminating in a nomination for the World Player of the Year award in 2018.

Ex-England and Sale Sharks winger Mark Cueto – now the club's Commercial Director – said:

“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Together and look forward to building on a successful partnership that first kicked off back in 2017.

“We work hard to ensure all of our partners get as much value as possible from the association with Sale Sharks – whether that’s through brand exposure, player appearances, hospitality packages or staff engagement – so we’re always delighted to renew existing agreements or welcome new partners into the Sharks family.

“It’s a really exciting time for everyone at the club with us sitting just outside the top four in the Premiership table; enjoying a great run of form and with a quarter-final date against Connacht in the Challenge Cup on the horizon.

“We’ve got ambitious plans for the future too, which is why having the support of fantastic businesses like Together is absolutely crucial to our growth and future success as a club.”

In addition to player sponsorship, the agreement means the Together brand will continue to adorn the back of Sale’s home and away kits for the next two seasons. The company is also hoping the partnership can allow it to continue building on the impressive growth it’s had across the UK.

"We're delighted to be continuing our partnership with Sale Sharks, strengthening our ties with a top-level rugby club full of international stars,” said Marc Goldberg, Commercial CEO at Together.

“With players like Faf de Klerk plying their trade here in the North West, the Sale Sharks brand has huge national and international appeal and we’re incredibly proud to have played our part in supporting the club over the past couple of seasons.

“It’s been a perfect partnership for us in many ways as we share the same core values as Sale, and it’s certainly helped to raise greater awareness of the Together brand, which was always a key objective.

“Sport also has the power to unite people and there’s no doubt that Sale Sharks has a positive impact on people in our local community as well as the wider North West region, all of which meant that extending the partnership was an easy decision for us.”
